Regassing

Regassing Heatpumps

Our approach to sustainability is to offer greener, more efficient, heat pump gassing options

Breathe new life into your heat pump with an eco-conscious upgrade that doesn’t just restore performance — it helps protect the planet. Regassing with environmentally friendly refrigerants, like M60 & M20, offer a cleaner, greener alternative to older, high-GWP gases, delivering powerful, reliable heating and cooling with a fraction of the environmental impact.

M60 and M20 are hydrocarbon-based refrigerants specifically designed to replace harmful gases like R410A & R32. With nearly zero Global Warming Potential and no damage to the ozone layer, it's the smart choice for homes and businesses that care about comfort and climate. Make the switch — for efficiency, for savings, and for a healthier future.

THE BENEFITS

Regassing can breathe new life into older systems - like giving your heatpump a major upgrade, avoiding an expensive replacement

Switch to eco-friendly gases like M20 or M60 and suddenly you're saving 35-45% on energy bills, helping the planet, and extending your system's life for years.

It's not often that doing the right thing is both better for the environment, but also better for your wallet.

How does regassing work?

Regassing a heat pump involves removing the old refrigerant (gas) and replacing it with fresh gas to restore optimal performance. A technician first checks for leaks, then safely removes the existing gas before recharging the system with the correct amount of environmentally friendly refrigerant — such as M60. This process ensures your heat pump operates efficiently, delivers consistent heating or cooling, and complies with modern environmental standards.

There are several reasons to regass a system.

  • You might be looking at giving an older system a new lease of life
  • Improving efficiency when a heat pump stops working as effectively as it did
  • As part of a maintenance visit - if existing gas pressure is low

What ever your reason, feel free to contact us to discuss your options. Something so simple can make a vast differnce to your system.

Benefits of regassing?

Environmental Impact

Global Warming Potential (GWP):

  • M20 & M60: Almost zero GWP
  • R32: GWP of 675
  • R410A: GWP of 2090

Flammability & Safety:

  • M20 & M60: Non-toxic, safe hydrocarbon refrigerants

Energy Efficiency:

  • M20: Savings are expected to reach approximately 45% of energy usage compared to R32
  • M60: Average savings of approximately 35% on energy usage compared to R410A

Phase-out Schedules:

  • R410A: From January 2025, the installation of refrigerant gasses above 750 such as R22 and R410A will be prohibited in the EU
